So lonely

Posted by ssjha on April 22, 2006

I am off !!

Such a beautiful creature yet so lonely. That's exactly what i am feeling right at the moment.
Guess will have to go throught the life all alone. Why it should be so. Why not anyone to give company.

Where are my Brethrens. Have I to walk alone only.I need to have some companions.

I dunno why i am feeling these kind of things. I should have some other things when i saw the pic. But instead my mind reminded me of Rabindra nath songs "Ekla Chalo"

Finally got it

Posted by ssjha on April 21, 2006

I , for so many months wanted to increase the storage space in my pc. Finally, I managed to get it yesterday. It was not my first attempt though. I had tried this on a previous occasion too and wasn’t able to manage it. It happened that on previous occasion I went to Ahmedabad and enquired about the prices and all those stuff. But when I asked him to hand over me the Hard-drive he said that it will be available tomorrow,if I gave him some deposit. What was he thinking that I would come again tomorrow from Gandhinagar. Naah.

Yesterday too the same thing was going to happen. I first went to the other side of Ahmedabad from I had bought the pc. While going to the place (which was a long walk there because of ours forgetting the location) we saw another computer shop and enquired about it. They this time made the bill and asked me to collect the item from theirs godown at satellite, which is on the other corner of ahmedabad. This was all to avoid the 8% or so octroi at Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. I this time refused that I am in no mood to go there. But the price here was genuine.

Next stoppage was at the place where I had intended to go from the start. But, what the hell that shop had completely changed, that too for bad. There were fewer people with fewer inventories. Anyways I asked him first that whether I would be able to get the hard-drive there and then, without going somewhere else to save octroi. He replied affirmatively. But when I asked the price, I was stunned it was 700 more than what I had heard on previous occasion. I knew that now I can’t bargain with him. So I left quietly. It pays if one has the idea of the price of a product beforehand.

Now as it was so that I thought that this time also I won’t be able to get it. And I had pledged that I won’t be buying that storage device from here anymore if I don’t get it today. I have a horrible time here at Gujarat while buying anything. Be it from chips to coke to bike or pc.

On my way out from the previous shop I saw a new shop which was still being furnished. I entered the place and as a ritual asked whether I will be able to get it from there without going some place else. He replied that I will get it for you. Then the price thing, he was around 200 hundred rupees dearer. I told him that I was getting the same thing at a lower price and I will get that from thee. He agreed at that price even I could hear from the telephonic conversation that the dealer from where he was getting the drive was asking for Rs 25 more. Maybe he did because it was a new shop and he didn’t want to loose a customer. I also got a CD wallet.

I will now able to store the movies of my choice and some good serials not to forget the games, without troubling to delete something to add something. Maybe the space will seem big enough just for a short duration, but still. Now the storage space on my pc has become 240 Gbs( 80+160) theoretically. On reality it would be around 220 or so. I bought the drive at the price of Rs 3,500.

WordPress Shutdown.

Posted by ssjha on April 17, 2006

Yesterday night i cam to my blogs directly through wordpress and saw the message that "the thing that you are looking for is not here". I was shocked and knew that somebody has deleted all my blogs.I was so frustrated that why would any body will do that.

In my pc i had saved the login password for the account. A I was ruing that fact. Also i had no backup. Last two months i had been quite active on blogging and all my major works were on this site. On logging also it wasn't showing anything except the few sidebars. Just it gave me a fright that who hated me so much that they deleteted eveything on the blog. Also every other functions like signup and new blogs etc link were working fine so i had no idea that it was the wordpress technical problem

It was just that i went to other sites which i like on wordpress and I saw the same defacement. Then i got some relief. But then immediately one thought struck me that, what if the entire wordpress site has been hijacked and defaced. Because there were no notification from the administrators. I could see all my works going on vain.

I think that almost after an hour of this incident the admins woke up to fact and said they are going for the emergency maintenance and would like to make things work which was giving some troubles. I think that is a bulshitting of the masses because if they knew that it was going to be a maintenace work then it would have been pre-notified to other users. It was only after everything went hay-wire that they started the fixing work.

I hope that from now on whatever be the reason , fixing or the maintenace the response from the admins should be a little prompt than this time.

Why Bihar To exemplify things.

Posted by ssjha on April 16, 2006

Whatever and whenever one has to give examples in whatever one is wrong with the democracy and other systems in India, it's Inevitable that Bihar names invariably crops up, to exemplify things.

The Imediate thing that brought this to my notice was the responses each the author got in his blog.  http://o3.indiatimes.com/the_iconoclast  which is now removed. Infact author removed everything tht he wrote in his entire blog.
The blog was simply about the incident of some rioting during the funeral of Dr. Rajkumar the Great Kannadiga Actor. The only thing that the author questioned was why did he add Dr. to his name when he got an Honourary Phd. Now the things were hightened by the fact that TOI had its link on ints main page. Soon the fight erupted between the readers and snowballed into North Vs South.

No one was far in mudslinging and calling names in all ways possible. Many even demanded that South should be made independent. So that it can reach the developed tag soon, only because of the North they are so lagging. There were sensible comments too but they were being hijacked by the rogue elements. After all till when one can keep ones cool. The author removed his post and wrote something about it. That he didn’t like his blog being public akhara and all fighting against their fellow Indians. But it wasn’t going to stop and again the same bickering started. Finally he removed his blog completely without the provisions of commenting.

No coming back to what I wished to say. That why use Bihar and its people to exemplify any thing that has gone wrong with the system. I also commented on the blogs mentioned above and made a backup too. So here they go…………

(First Comment)It's a bitter shame that the people from so called richer states want to seperate from the country. Later within the state they will want to seperate the richer districts and …… richer villages and so on and so forth. Go ahead till u divide within urs own house hold……

Going by all the posts it seems that whenever they have to say sumthing they pick Bihar for the exmple. tell me how much do u know about them apart from the media??

Why the hell. Their only problem is that they are the poorest of the lot. But mate watch out, this was not so when we just had got independence.

Life has two faces, And everyone has to go along with it. Up and downs are the law of life. Watch out that Middle class of Bihar is Vast increasing and one can see them everywhere. All district administration has One Bihari at the top of the post.

What i want to tell that it's an adverse situation that simulates the people to try harder. It's just the way with bihar now. Give it a time. And for god's sake don't try to give examples of Bihar to prove anypoint for the north india. They have other hardships to see to.

Like wise i would like to say the people from all over the country(South or north) Don't fight for that which has no winners.

(Second Comment)@manju………. U are really retarded  and don’t know how to make sense. That’s why so many repeat posts and others filled with nonsense

@psychic witness What makes u think that all people are vying for Bangalore. Already Infosys has started packing it’s bag. Other will follow soon. Have u heard of these places. Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai Calcutta, Noida, gandhinagar (Not to mentin China, Brazil, Porugal etc). I pity you guys. If you keep acting like this, Bangalore will be no where in the silicon map of India. You should be really proud of this, as there won’t be any outsiders too. That is to say “kill the Golden Goose”.

@ those who say that say this and you will be dead in a gutter. Baby I have more violence than all of u will see in your whole life. Any body is brave in his own courtyard. If you wanna show your bravery go to borders or the insurgency hit areas.

Daaru

Posted by ssjha on April 13, 2006

Now I know that it’s a little late to tell, but still I would like to tell you people that I went for the farewell party. Only I, know that how much uncertain it was. The pendulum could swing on the either side, but thank god that it landed on the good side. Ranjan and Gupta and Chirru were still absent. The arrangement was quite good and was worth going. Ice-creams were free and I loved that more than anything else.

One thing that was a little weird, that even though it was a farewell party, it was like just another cultural festival, in which people were with their own group even within the batch. Guess that’s the price the student here have to pay for the huge batch size.

Now, coming to the title of this blog, how could any farewell party be complete without booze? And considering the fact that, we had the tradition to keep!! Now this may not seem a problem to many people, but here is a huge problem, first that Gujarat is a dry state and second the warden who constantly monitor the smoking in the hostel let alone the boozing. So I convinced some brave souls and after money contribution and man round of debate whether one should take risk, finally all nodded affirmatively. This did indeed kill the precious time.

Now after getting drunk, that too stealthily we were finally in mood, and danced to the DJ. That was a street dancing, to call at best. But still had the fun. The only regret was that the party ended soon after we boozed, giving us a very little time to have fun. Still that was a great experience. After midnight we came to the hostel and all were of the same view that “party mein Jaaker hammne koi gallltti nahi ki”. The main incident of boozing was to unfold the day after which I will write later
