Am I Or Am I Not

Posted by ssjha on October 6, 2006

Whereever i have been and people have known me for quite some time, it has been a common phenomena that they have been in awe of my getting good grades without any work.

Earlier i used to think that it’s a joke but not always the same joke would be prevelant everywhere!! This also brings to the fact that i have always been an underachiever. which isn’t a good  sign either.

Or am i being boisterous………. who knows :o

Prelude To Air Travel

Posted by ssjha on October 6, 2006

Again it was an example of the excellent time management done by me, and knowing that i have known myself for more than 20 years or so, again it was quite unexpected of me. still I did the unexpected.

There were many first in the adventure, It was the first time that i transacted for the air-tickets myself that too from the credit-card of my friend, and was going to be air-borne the next day all alone for the first time. Also the money management comes in in the way that i hadn’t had enough money for the same and when i had hinted to my parents for it they quite diplomatically refused considering the fact that why i wanted to be airlifted to mumbai from the NCR region.

The first thing that i did was to compare all the flight rates. whoever said that the flights are cheaper and would give the trains a run for it’s money needs to do the reality check. none of the so called no frills airlines were giving any cheap fares, the lowest possible was of Rs 3000 and it was in the morining which wasn’t going to serve any f my purposes, so the next cheapest option(if i dare call it cheap) was from deccan airways. That cost me Rs 4,000. So this way i got my first so called cheap ticket.

Now before narrating my onboard experience i would like to share why i was in so hurry to go to mumbai, well it was for the same old experience apart from the two facts that one reliance communications was calling me and other was that i had no time to meet the deadline. So continuing, I was having my end-trimester exams till 5:30 pm on 29th sep. and i had the appointment on 30th at 9:00 am. so you could gauge the agony that i was in considering the fact that both were very important. Also i had to worry about the time to reach the airport considering the time that i had for 9:30 pm and the time it takes from ghaziabad to reach there.

Nevertheless my good friend Amit Vasisth(imt) took the onus upon himself and took me to the airport on his bike. He is a terrific driver and inspite of having all the stuffs, infact his handlebar was also occupied by the airbag. He drove like hell on his LML 150cc bike and they he cut the traffica and most of the time was above 100kmph and at delhi traffic. I must confess that i had never been a pillion on that kind of driving and i was well aware that what’s gonna happen if he misses one cut, infact we did had many close shaves from my standards.

After the usual asking for the directions we got to the airport after hour and half, sitting for that long with such a traffic rush and near escapades had drenced all the energy, i can only guess what he might be feeling at that moment. At airport we gazed at the airtravellers and had our usual dose of nicotine and afeter waving to Amit i went inside the airport!!!!!
